Overview
Information
The Behavioral Support Specialist (BSS) certificate program
teaches participants to effectively and independently conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), design function-based interventions, and support school-wide Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) efforts. The
unique three-course sequence has provided comprehensive instruction
since 2001.
The program delivers web-based online training for personnel who provide behavioral support in classrooms, schools, and related environments. Courses
- offered every Fall and Spring semester - target certified personnel already employed in schools.
They are also effective for persons with a BA/BS who work in a variety
of settings addressing children or adults with emotional, behavioral, or developmental disabilities.
