Reaching the world through education

The Ohio State University

Higher Education and Student Affairs

We offer an emphasis in international education within our Higher Education/Student Affairs program. Courses include Internationalizing Colleges & Universities and Comparative Education. We also offer a professional summer internship abroad at Lancaster University in Lancaster, England. Through an extensive six-week program students are involved in supervised field learning experiences and seminars in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the nature and work of higher education in the United Kingdom and Europe. Students enroll for 10 course credits, and this internship meets the requirement for one practicum. To be eligible for the internship, students must enroll in one of two courses--Comparative Education or Internationalizing Colleges and Universities--and complete two research courses in the year before they attend the internship program. Other students in the program have taken advantage of individual opportunities to conduct research on topics such as international students, international admissions, and international student affairs.
