Old Dominion University
Office of International Programs/Higher Education Programs
The higher education master's degree program at Old Dominion University consists of tracks in student affairs administration, general administration, and student affairs counseling. Since fall semester 2004, the program has had an international higher education leadership track that enrolls between ten and fifteen students annually. All four of the program tracks share many courses in their core sequences and research on international education is an integral part of four core courses. Internships are also required for all students and the core course on comparative systems of higher education is taught as a study abroad course each summer. Old Dominion University has formal study abroad agreements with CEPE in Guadalajara, Mexico, along with less formal arrangements with schools in Denmark, Sweden, and Germany. In January 2006, the Higher Education program added a new Ph.D. degree in Higher Education, including a cognate in International Higher Education Administration.
